Dear Washington University School of Medicine Faculty, Staff & Students:
The COVID Call Center is experiencing overwhelming and increasing call volumes. We have authorized overtime to try and cover, but are still challenged. In order to ensure that we are able to meet our critical healthcare workforce needs, effective immediately, we are initiating the following phone tree triaging process:
- Individuals who work in clinics and hospitals and cannot work from home will be prioritized through the COVID call center.
- We will not be ordering asymptomatic exposure testing through that call center at this time.
We realize this is frustrating. If you have been exposed and are asymptomatic, we recommend you seek testing through your physician, an urgent care center, or a local pharmacy. We are very sorry for this inconvenience and will let you know as soon as we are able to return to normal operations.
