New WashU Safe app promotes safety on and off campus

The university is now offering students, faculty and staff a free phone-based app designed to address and promote personal safety on and off campus. The app includes COVID-19 updates and a link to the self-screening tool, as well as important safety notifications and quick access to emergency procedures and other campus safety resources.

The app uses mobile and GPS technologies and features enhanced services such as: Friend Walk, which allows you to send your location to a friend through email or SMS on your device, and Mobile Bluelight, which will call Washington University public safety and simultaneously send your exact location in real time for an immediate response. The university will no longer use the Noonlight app.
